Redoubt Systems is a focused infrastructure service built on the principle that small communities deserve private communications without compromising on simplicity or reliability.

We're not a venture-backed startup chasing growth metrics. We're a small operation committed to providing stable, trustworthy infrastructure for groups that value digital sovereignty.

Founder and Owner

Redoubt Systems was founded by Jeff Palmgren after more than two decades building commercial software in environments where security and reliability are not optional.

I began my career on point-of-sale software, then spent more than a decade building and maintaining banking systems that handle other people's money and personal data. Today, I work on applications that support the bulk electric system, which is critical infrastructure held to strict security and compliance standards. That background shapes how Redoubt is run: security is designed in from the start, changes are deliberate, and the systems are built to keep working.

Redoubt Systems is intentionally small. When you trust someone with your communications infrastructure, you should know who is responsible for it. I am directly accountable for the design, operation, and security of the service, and that will not change because of an investor's priorities.

Why Trust Us?

Technical Transparency

We use open-source software (Matrix/Synapse) with end-to-end encryption enabled by default. Your data is encrypted using proven cryptography before it reaches our servers. We cannot read your messages even if we wanted to.

Server Hosting

We host through Flokinet, a provider built specifically for privacy-sensitive workloads and used by journalists, activists, and organizations where confidentiality matters. We select hosting locations for their strong data protection laws and independence from major surveillance frameworks. Flokinet's institutional commitment to privacy adds an additional layer of assurance beyond jurisdiction alone.

We make money by providing reliable infrastructure, not by monetizing your data or maximizing engagement. Our business model is aligned with your privacy.
